Well I can not believe this!!

I have been saying for a long time that I was done having kids. Our family is prefect with the two kids that we have. Well I guess God has other ideas. He has decided to bless us with one more. I called our family to let them know. Well everyone I tell all they do is laugh at us, because I have always said that I do not want anymore kids. I also guess that we will have to change the name of our blog, because of the new little one coming. I am trying to get used to this idea of having a new baby.

Jacob is 5

Jacob it is hard to believe that you are five years old today. We are so lucky to have you in our lives. We thank God everyday for you. You are one funny little boy. What have you done over the past five years.

  • We have moved from Virginia to Oklahoma.
  • We lived with grandma and grandpa for two years and you shared a room with Abby.
  • We went to Disney after your Daddy graduated Medical School. You got to see Mater, and you were so upset, because Lighting was not there.
  • We bought a house in Harrah, Oklahoma and you have your own room now, you have shared a room with Abby for four years. That was very hard on you to have to sleep by yourself. Now that is the only place you want to sleep is in your own bed.
  • You love doing sport things you have done gymnastics, swimming, and played t-ball, you said that next year you would like to try and play football, and soccer.
  • You graduated from Pre-K and will be going into Kindergarten this year.
  • You love going to movies the last movie you saw was Toy Story 3 and you loved it.

This year for your birthday we are going to the races, and then next weekend we are going on a train trip to Dallas. That is what you wanted instead of a party.

Jacob age one. Your second birthday at the church. We were going to have it at the park, but it rained it out so we had it at Grandma's church.

Your third birthday was at our new house.

Your fourth birthday was at the Harrah Pool. You had a great time with all your cousins and friends from church and t-ball.

Hope you have a great Birthday this year and can not wait for the Birthdays you will have for the rest of your live.
Love,
Mom, Dad, and Abby

Snow Day

Well we have been in the house now for five days!!! We did get out yesterday to take my dad for his birthday lunch. We went to Red Lobster and then came right back home. Today we made a snowman, painted, and made some sugar cookies. Jacob got this cookie kit from Grandma Reed, and since we were stuck inside I thought it would be a good idea to get it out. The snowman did not turn out too great, but the kids did do most of the work. Well if we move to Maine then we should get very good at building one. Mike is thinking about taking a job there when he is done with his residency.

Halloween from the Past

Abby has asked me over the last couple of weeks of what she has been for Halloween. So I finally pulled out some pictures. There is a couple of pictures missing, because those were taken before I had a digital camera and I do not know where those pictures are. It was fun looking at all the different costumes that she has had over the years. Today was here Halloween party at school and she was Aurora again, because I can not see paying money for a costume that she wants, but has one at home she can wear again. Jacob on the other hand was not happy, because he is a cowboy and he does not have a costume per say him, so he was giving me a fit this morning. I will post picks of the Halloween costumes this year in my next blog entry.

Here is Abby almost two. We were living in Virginia at this time and I made her costume.

Abby almost three. She wanted to be Dumbo, so I found this costume on ebay cheap. She loved it.
Abby the princess, and Jacob the pumpkin.

Labor Day

We had a great Labor Day weekend. We went to Elk City and spent some time with my family. We played put put, the 66 museum, road the train, and went to a carnival. We did this 16 years ago. We all had a great time sleeping on the floor and just were ever we could find a spot. The only thing is that we did not get a chance to play games that much it seemed like we were going non stop. The kids were in a parade, but I did not get very good pictures to post.

Here we are at the 66 museum. Abby and Jacob on a ride.

The whole family that went.

My moms sisters and one brother. She is missing a couple in this picture.

First Day of School

The kids had a great first day of school. Abby is now in first grade. She is starting to like it more and more everyday. She has some little friends there also. She did not like it at first, because Jacob is in Pre-k and he gets to spend half of the day either with me or my mom since I am working at the doctor's office that I used to work for, before we moved to Virginia. I am only working part time until he hires someone full time. With Mike gone and me trying to work and two kids it is just crazy around here. I told Abby that I did not get to do anything fun while she was at school just work or clean house. I told her that I saved all the fun stuff for when she gets home and she thinks that is ok.

Jacob on the other hand told me that there is no reason for him to go to school, because he is not learning anything. All they get to do is play and color and he can do that at home.

Abby on her first day of school. There school make them have clear back packs so this is the one from last year. There was no reason to buy a new one when this one will work fine. Jacob on his first day of school.

Jacob in front of his school. I had to walk him in that day and when we pulled up he was already unbuckled and ready to get out and start his day.

Update

We have had a very busy summer. I was working at the church and the kids were going to swimming lessons everyday. I have to say they did very good. Abby is going to be on the first grade swim team and Jacob is going to be right behind her soon. They do not have a swim team for Pre-k or he would be on it. I am so proud of both of them. Jacob can jump in the deep part and swim with no life jacket, and Abby is doing a great swimmers dive in the pool. Only if she would stop holding her nose. She does not like for the water to go up all the time.
