Texas Cup

Abby decided she wanted to go shoot at the Texas Cup. Jackson and Grace wanted to go shoot also so the parents loaded up and headed to Texas.  We had a great time and all three kids shot great, and also had a great time. All three kids at the Texas boarder of course you have to get at picture with the sign.

Abby getting her First place belt buckle she shot her personal best at this tournament a 456. She was so proud of herself and the accomplishments. She has a new clicker and also an eye patch now when she shoots, and both things started about three weeks ago.

Part of the team that came down Jackson first place, Abby first place, Grace third place, our great coach Mrs. Kathleen, and her son Bryce first place.  Way to go TEAM!!

Here are the kids out side of Texas Archery Academy in Plano, by the arrow. Had to take a picture there of course.

Abby is loving playing basketball. She is trying very hard to understand, and shoot a basket. She has had no luck in making a basket, but she is trying her hardest and that is all we can ask. I am so proud of her. I am so thankful for her Godly coaches she has they work with them on there memory verse, and also the love of the game.

Abby you are doing so good. Your dad and I are very proud of you!!

A Very Long Time

It has been a very long time since I have blogged lately. So here it is.

  1. We lost the baby Sept. 23rd. I guess that is why I was feeling more like myself. We know that it was God's plan for us to get pregnant and for us to lose the baby. It was a hard couple of weeks here, but we are getting better.
  2. October came and we had Halloween the kids had a great time I will post pics. soon.
  3. November we had Abby's birthday at Great Wolf lodge, and then we went to the American Girl Store because that is what she wanted to do. I can not believe that she is 8 years old now.
  4. December has been very good to us. Mike has gotten his contract and is going to sign it. We are getting very excited about all this about to be over.

So that has been our life in a nutshell I will post pics. soon.

Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!

Feeling like myself

I am so happy that I am starting to feel more like myself today. Mike has been moonlighting to make extra money, one because I have been off work, and two we are trying to save money for when the baby is born. Today Abby and I made some cookies, and I even cleaned the house which I have not done for two weeks, man will Mike be surprised when he gets home. Well I hope the worst is over and I can get back to my usual self.

Morning Sickness

I know when you get pregnant you have morning sickness, but this is for the birds. I have not been this sick with the other two kids. I do not know if it is my age or what, but I will be glad when this is over. Mike has helped out a lot and so has my mom which I am very thankful that they live close by to come and help. My mom has had to take the kids to school a couple of times, because Mike can not be late or miss a day or he has to make them up and that puts us leaving residency longer, and we really do not want that since we already owe two weeks. The great thing is that he now only has to take call two times a block instead of four which helps out a lot because he is here at night. I just keep praying everyday that it will get better and just go away. I need to take kids to school, fix lunches for them, clean house, do laundry, and oh yea get the baby's room ready. I hope this goes away soon.

Well I can not believe this!!

I have been saying for a long time that I was done having kids. Our family is prefect with the two kids that we have. Well I guess God has other ideas. He has decided to bless us with one more. I called our family to let them know. Well everyone I tell all they do is laugh at us, because I have always said that I do not want anymore kids. I also guess that we will have to change the name of our blog, because of the new little one coming. I am trying to get used to this idea of having a new baby.

Jacob is 5

Jacob it is hard to believe that you are five years old today. We are so lucky to have you in our lives. We thank God everyday for you. You are one funny little boy. What have you done over the past five years.

  • We have moved from Virginia to Oklahoma.
  • We lived with grandma and grandpa for two years and you shared a room with Abby.
  • We went to Disney after your Daddy graduated Medical School. You got to see Mater, and you were so upset, because Lighting was not there.
  • We bought a house in Harrah, Oklahoma and you have your own room now, you have shared a room with Abby for four years. That was very hard on you to have to sleep by yourself. Now that is the only place you want to sleep is in your own bed.
  • You love doing sport things you have done gymnastics, swimming, and played t-ball, you said that next year you would like to try and play football, and soccer.
  • You graduated from Pre-K and will be going into Kindergarten this year.
  • You love going to movies the last movie you saw was Toy Story 3 and you loved it.

This year for your birthday we are going to the races, and then next weekend we are going on a train trip to Dallas. That is what you wanted instead of a party.

Jacob age one. Your second birthday at the church. We were going to have it at the park, but it rained it out so we had it at Grandma's church.

Your third birthday was at our new house.

Your fourth birthday was at the Harrah Pool. You had a great time with all your cousins and friends from church and t-ball.

Hope you have a great Birthday this year and can not wait for the Birthdays you will have for the rest of your live.
Love,
Mom, Dad, and Abby

Snow Day

Well we have been in the house now for five days!!! We did get out yesterday to take my dad for his birthday lunch. We went to Red Lobster and then came right back home. Today we made a snowman, painted, and made some sugar cookies. Jacob got this cookie kit from Grandma Reed, and since we were stuck inside I thought it would be a good idea to get it out. The snowman did not turn out too great, but the kids did do most of the work. Well if we move to Maine then we should get very good at building one. Mike is thinking about taking a job there when he is done with his residency.

Halloween from the Past

Abby has asked me over the last couple of weeks of what she has been for Halloween. So I finally pulled out some pictures. There is a couple of pictures missing, because those were taken before I had a digital camera and I do not know where those pictures are. It was fun looking at all the different costumes that she has had over the years. Today was here Halloween party at school and she was Aurora again, because I can not see paying money for a costume that she wants, but has one at home she can wear again. Jacob on the other hand was not happy, because he is a cowboy and he does not have a costume per say him, so he was giving me a fit this morning. I will post picks of the Halloween costumes this year in my next blog entry.

Here is Abby almost two. We were living in Virginia at this time and I made her costume.

Abby almost three. She wanted to be Dumbo, so I found this costume on ebay cheap. She loved it.
Abby the princess, and Jacob the pumpkin.

Labor Day

We had a great Labor Day weekend. We went to Elk City and spent some time with my family. We played put put, the 66 museum, road the train, and went to a carnival. We did this 16 years ago. We all had a great time sleeping on the floor and just were ever we could find a spot. The only thing is that we did not get a chance to play games that much it seemed like we were going non stop. The kids were in a parade, but I did not get very good pictures to post.

Here we are at the 66 museum. Abby and Jacob on a ride.

The whole family that went.

My moms sisters and one brother. She is missing a couple in this picture.

First Day of School

The kids had a great first day of school. Abby is now in first grade. She is starting to like it more and more everyday. She has some little friends there also. She did not like it at first, because Jacob is in Pre-k and he gets to spend half of the day either with me or my mom since I am working at the doctor's office that I used to work for, before we moved to Virginia. I am only working part time until he hires someone full time. With Mike gone and me trying to work and two kids it is just crazy around here. I told Abby that I did not get to do anything fun while she was at school just work or clean house. I told her that I saved all the fun stuff for when she gets home and she thinks that is ok.

Jacob on the other hand told me that there is no reason for him to go to school, because he is not learning anything. All they get to do is play and color and he can do that at home.

Abby on her first day of school. There school make them have clear back packs so this is the one from last year. There was no reason to buy a new one when this one will work fine. Jacob on his first day of school.

Jacob in front of his school. I had to walk him in that day and when we pulled up he was already unbuckled and ready to get out and start his day.

Update

We have had a very busy summer. I was working at the church and the kids were going to swimming lessons everyday. I have to say they did very good. Abby is going to be on the first grade swim team and Jacob is going to be right behind her soon. They do not have a swim team for Pre-k or he would be on it. I am so proud of both of them. Jacob can jump in the deep part and swim with no life jacket, and Abby is doing a great swimmers dive in the pool. Only if she would stop holding her nose. She does not like for the water to go up all the time.

Jacob's 4th birthday party

Jacob had a birthday week. On his birthday we took him to Zio's and then to Ice Age 3 we did not see the 3d one because Abby does not like 3d. His Grandma (my mom), Oma(mikes mom), aunt Shelly, Cousin Zack, and uncle Jon and aunt Vicki, and cousin Courtney and cousin Jude went. We had a great time. I can not believe my little guy is 4 already. The next night my dad bought tickets to the races for us. We had a great time. Jacob did not take his eyes off the car. I thought he would get board after a while, but he watched them the whole time. He did really good.

He had to wait a week for his birthday party, because his birthday is July 2nd and we always have to deal with the fourth. We went to Harrah swimming pool it was hot if you were not in the water, because it is enclosed. He had a great time with all of his family and friends. He had another cars party. I hope next year he will change. The good thing is I just reused everything from last year.

Trying to get caught up!!

We have had a couple of busy months. With me working at the church and the office I have not had much time to blog. Mike is doing much better with his treatments. He is going in again on Tuesday, before we leave for the lake for my family reunion. He said he feels better than he did four years ago. We are filing the paper work with the VA for compensation since this may have been caused by him being in the gulf.

Since I have lasted posted Abby had her ears pierced, played soccer, and graduated Kindergarten. I can not believe that she will be in first grade next year. She is getting so big. Mike got to go with us to get her ears pierced and boy am I glad he did. She cried and he calmed her down so well, After all the crying and everything she did it. I was so proud of her. She played soccer for our church and loved it. She did much better this year than the years passed. Her graduation was so cute, they sang songs and did a little slide show. She was so happy that her daddy got to be there. I think he was more happy to be there than what she thought. He has just missed out on so much stuff.

Jacob is just Jacob. He started playing t-ball, and does not pay attention very well. He does have a lot of fun though. The last game is Monday and they are tied for third place they have to beat the team they are playing for third place though. He and Abby are also in gymnastics I put him in so maybe he would listen better.

Spring Break Day 1

Last night Abby got to go stay the night with my mom. They had one on one time, which she loved, because her brother was not there. Jacob got to stay home with mom and dad and watch movies and play the WII. We also had a lot of popcorn which his is favorite. Jacob is getting to stay tonight with my mom for his one on one time. While Abby was with my mom last night I finished her room. We painted it two weeks ago, and I am just now finished with most of it, she still needs some pictures on the wall, but it does look pink and pretty. Abby picked out the paint and it is fluffy pink, she has always wanted a pink room and now she has one. Abby picked out the bed spread and rug, that Oma bought for her. Thank you Oma we could not have painted or bought the bedding if it was not for you! When I got done with Abby's room I went to the church to work for a little, and then took Jacob of to my moms for his time alone. He was sooo happy when I left. We are going to the zoo tomorrow.

The room before we painted.

Random

We have been very busy this month. Mike is getting ready to take boards next week so he is studying up a storm. He is stress mode, he has been on call a lot this month also. The kids have been sick also, and they seem not to get over the cold they have. We had to put the Landrover in the shop finally for the oil leak to get fixed. I hope they can fix it and we do not have to get another car. We are trying to get all of our credit cards paid off which we paid of 4 so far!! Yea for us!! We only have 3 more to go and then we are going to try and work on Mike's student loans. Which that will take for ever. In the mean time while we are trying to pay off credit cards we are trying to buy new furniture for our house. We still use the futon for the couch and a glider rocker for a chair. I can seem to go out and charge anything anymore, because I do not to owe anyone anymore. Mike and I are also taking the Fire Proof class for marriage enrichment at church. We are not having any problems there we just want to make our marriage better. The class is great so far we only had one class so far I will let you know how it goes. We had a great Valentines day. We just spent the day with the kids and saw Bolt the movie and went to Chili's the kids had a great time. Mike and I both got I phones which I love. I almost did not get one because of the money, but Mike surprised me. How sweat is he. I love him. His birthday was on the 20th we went out to eat and the kids made him cupcakes which he loved. They are great kids.

Ice Storm

What do kids like to do during an ice storm. Go out and play!!!!! The problem is it really is not ice it is sleet. My kids thought it was snow. I told them we do not live in Virginia anymore we live in Oklahoma and we do not get that much snow we get ice here. I am happy to say that right now we still have power. The sleet is still coming down now, it was supposed to stop mid day, but it has not. I let the kids go out for a little while and play, as long as they stayed in the back yard. They had a great time. Abby wanted to go out with out her coat and play and I was like what are you thinking it is cold outside.

Abby and Jacob ready to go outside for a while. Abby and Jacob playing outside in the sleet. What do kids do after playing in the sleet? Eat lunch and watch cartoons of course.
