Ice Storm

What do kids like to do during an ice storm. Go out and play!!!!! The problem is it really is not ice it is sleet. My kids thought it was snow. I told them we do not live in Virginia anymore we live in Oklahoma and we do not get that much snow we get ice here. I am happy to say that right now we still have power. The sleet is still coming down now, it was supposed to stop mid day, but it has not. I let the kids go out for a little while and play, as long as they stayed in the back yard. They had a great time. Abby wanted to go out with out her coat and play and I was like what are you thinking it is cold outside.

Retreat

This past weekend we went on Mike's work retreat. Abby calls everything we go on an adventure, that is what she told her teacher. We all had a great time. They had a speaker come and his name was John Patrick he talks about God and the ethics behind everything. He was very good. We ate a lot while we were gone and I got to know the spouses a little bit more. The residents choose who they want to come to there program during this time so they had a little special meeting. Abby and Jacob had a great time playing with other kids there. The only problem was that it was sooo cold there. On Thursday it was 70 degrees, and when we left on Friday it was 36 degrees go figure that out, but I do live in Oklahoma. The kids played a lot of rock band while we were there also.

Abby and Jacob up in the loft of our cabin. They had a great time up there. They got hot sleeping up there, so Mike and I was cold down stairs, but that was ok the kids had fun.Jacob up in the loft.Mike, Abby, and Jacob headed to the club house for breakfast. Abby and Jacob running.

Santa Came

Abby and Jacob putting the cookies and milk out for Santa. They also put out food for the reindeer that they made at school. They were sooo excited about Santa coming they went straight to bed with no problems. They got up around 7:00 am which we were trying to sleep and very tired. My parents came over that morning for breakfast. We all had a great time.

Christmas Cookies

This year I used a different cookie recipe and icing. Abby did all the mixing and cutting this year. We had some cookies that were fat and some very skinny. The kids did a great job in decorating and they also had a great time. We did not have any problems with them trying to take things from each other. We have that problem a lot, because they always want to have the same thing or do the same thing. We are getting better with that.

Proud of the work. They did a great job.

Christmas Eve with the Kelley's

On Christmas Eve we always spend it with my mom's side of the family. We have it at my mom's church, because it is hard to fit all of my mom's brothers and sisters in one house. This year we ate and then went to the candle light service. The service was very good. When the service was done we went back and had a couple of snacks and opened presents. We draw names for the kids and the adults do dirty Santa. We always have a good time.

Christmas at the Reeds

This is no excuse, but I use Mike's laptop more than I use my computer. I tried to upload pictures to his, but never could figure it out. I now have time to sit in front of my computer and do the blog.
We had Christmas over at Mike's dad and step-mom's early, because his sister is also a doctor and she had to work Christmas Day. We had a great time. Mike's brother Brad and his family got to come in from Kansas City and join in on the fun also. We had beans and cornbread with all the stuff that goes along with the beans. Mike did not care for it, but I sure did. He likes the traditional turkey and ham, but when you have to go to three different houses it gets old. The kids had a great time and got way to much. I was talking to Mike's sister Holly and told her that I could take every thing that I got the kids back, and save a little money, with all the stuff they got. Jacob got a Leapster 2, cars game, and a Woody which he loves. Abby got pony ville and littlest pet shop which she loves all that stuff and plays with it all the time.

Abby opening her gifts. As you can see there is not that many pictures taken. I was trying to control the kids and see what they got from who, and Mike was taking the pictures. He does not care to take pictures. Hopefully we will get more pictures next year.
